Can Diabetes Be Prevented?

De to the increased population of overweight persons living in the United States, the population of persons suffering from diabetes has also grown. This typically happens when fat, liver and muscle cells do not respond normally to insulin, resulting in the body not storing blood sugar for later energy. 

Persons suffering from type 2 diabetes do not respond correctly to insulin. Type 2 diabetes usually affects people who are overweight. There are two main types of diabetes, type 1 and type 2. A best and easiest way to prevent diabetes is to remain at a healthy weight. Avoiding foods with extreme amounts of sugar and high fructose corn syrup also prevent against diabetes. 

Exercising helps the body burn off any access fat that may be resisting insulin intake. With the right diet and exercise, diabetes can easily be prevented. Having a regular exercise routine not only prevents against diabetes, but also releases endorphins that promote better mood.
